▪️A GoFundMe has been set up to assist the surving woman stabbed in Alta Vista. Catherine Ready was stabbed by 21 year-old man in the street after he murdered Ready’s mom and sister. Ready also received non-threatening bullet wounds when Ottawa Police shot and killed the man. [CityNews] [GoFundMe]

▪️The US Ambassador’s Fourth of July Party featured 15 open bars, 2000 guests including Gritty, and was held last week (Pix). Ambassador David L. Cohen trucked in delicacies from his hometown of Philadelphia –  cheesesteaks, water ice, and soft pretzels – across the border at 4 am. The party lasted four days. [BizBash

The Canada Day protests were a damp squib. Ottawa ByLaw towed 121 vehicles and issued 513 tickets. [CTV]

? LRT: Citizen transit commissioner Sarah Wright-Gilbert is angry that Mayor Jim Watson testified that she was undermining OC Transpo and sending out false information on Twitter. "There's a big difference between attacking staff and criticizing a public institution that is OC Transpo," she says.

+ Related Inquiry commissioner Justice William Hourigan has not been sympathetic to witnesses claiming confidentiality over documents, stating ‘We don’t hide behind confidentiality. We don’t answer questions on the basis that it might be confidential.’
