•  Ferme Juniper Farm opens March 15, when they’ll be selling greenhouse produce, honey, eggs, and maple syrup. The farm is also selling seedlings for the 2024 growing season.
•  Orléans Craft Beer Festival is coming back June 7-8 with fine beer, live music, and good times. Tickets go on sale March 25.
•  You don’t need any wine knowledge to enjoy Maker Feed Co’s Wine Discovery Workshop on March 20.
•  Main Farmers Market has joined the Ottawa Farmers’ Market Association and will open in a brand new, purpose built space in Grande Allée Park (185 Main St) on Saturday May 11.
•  Restaurant e18hteen’s six course (plus an Amuse) Maple Tasting Menu is now available until March 29. Salmon, sausage, fruit and veg, and cheese feature prominently.

  🥄 Raphaël Peruvian Cuisine (‘If you have never had ceviche before, this is the one to start with. If you’ve been scared away by other ceviches before, this is the one to bring you back’), and

•  Peter Hum at the Ottawa Citizen is no fan of new Mediterranean restaurant Anabella's Kitchen and Lounge. ‘Our visit left me thinking that it shows considerable promise, but also that it needs to be less uneven and more exquisite, given what it costs to eat there.’

🌞 Day Mayor

•  A person has been arrested over the break-in of the Mayor’s office. The City is not sharing any details of the Monday night’s break-in or of the arrest. Mayor Mark Sutcliffe says that he does not believe the incident was political. (William Eltherington at CTV)

🎞️ Hollywott or Ottywood, you make the decision

•  The Ottawa Film Office is looking for expressions of interest to build a soundstage on Woodroffe. The Office has leased the former Greenbelt Research Farm across from the Nepean Sportsplex for the facilty. Its hoped that three 20,000-square-foot sound stages would be built on the 22 acres. 💰 Advertising

•  The City’s finance and corporate services committee has asked staff to investigate fossil fuel advertising options. Campaigners have asked Council to bar fossil fuel advertising from City-owned facilities and buses as a climate change reduction measure. City staff will report back in the summer with suggestions. ☘️ St Patrick’s Day

•  The Ottawa St Patrick’s Day parade has been cancelled for the fifth year. Organizers say they were denied a parade permit because of lack of police resources. (Josh Pringle at CTV)

🛻 Convoy News

•  The Federal government has issued its response to the Emergencies Act inquiry. The Public Order Emergency Commission made 56 recommendations for changes to the Emergencies Act. The Federal government today said that it would consult widely over alterations, but it will also wait until its appeal over the act’s constitionality is over. A Federal court ruled earlier this year that invoking the act was ‘unreasonable’. (The Canadian Press)
