HELLO OTTAWA

This weekend is Mardi Gras for snoops. It’s the first Open Doors Ottawa since the introduction of COVID-19. (We think – we don’t remember it happening last year)

Ninety buildings are opening their doors for rare viewings by the public.

Some we`re curious about: Canada Council Art Bank, the embassies of Denmark, the United States, and Hungary, and the Britannia Water Purification PlantRideau Hall is also open.

Check the listings: most places are only open for a few hours on one day.

The governing Progressive Conservatives have nominated Sean Webster, a former communications executive with Canopy Growth. For the fourth time, medical laboratory technician Melissa Coenraad has been nominated by the New Democratic Party. The surprise is from the Liberals, who nominated Karen McCrimmon. McCrimmon did not rerun for office in the overlapping Federal riding last year for health reasons.
