STATISTICS OTTAWA |
|
70 |
– The number of times per month that Ottawa 911 receives emergency calls that it transfers to emergency services in other North American cities. Not only was this not possible before last November, but the Canadian Radio Telecommunications Commission has ordered it be implemented across Canada by March 4, 2024. However, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police have requested an extension to the deadline. Algonquin College professor Michael Wood, whose advocacy created the service, has filed an opposition against the extension. | | Gabrielle Huston at CBC |
