🚸 Elegy

Landon Pearson has passed at age 92. Pearson founded the Landon Pearson Resource Centre for the Study of Childhood and Children’s Rights, an influential institution for the development of children’s rights. She also served as a senator from 1994 to 2005. She was predeceased by her husband Geoffrey Pearson, son of former Prime Minister Lester B Pearson. After Geoffrey served as Canada’s ambassador to the USSR, Pearson wrote Children of Glasnost: Growing Up in Soviet. (Carleton University)

🛻 Convoy

The Public Order Emergency Commission, which was due next week to issue its report on the Federal government’s use of the Emergency Act to roust the Convoy siege participants, has asked for extra time. The new date is expected to be February 20, which is within the act’s 360 day mandated timescale. (Canadian Press)
