♨️ Aylmer 

• The City of Gatineau has issued a boil water advisory for Aylmer. The 10,000 residents should boil water for one minute before drinking it. That goes for water intended for pets as well. (Toula Mazloum at CTV)

🏃‍♀️ Paris Olympics

•  Gatineau’s Audrey Leduc set a new Canadian record in the women’s 100m this morning, beating herself. Leduc’s time was 10.95 seconds, overtaking her own time of 10.96 seconds set in April. This sends Leduc into the semifinals. (CBC)

🛻 Convoy News

•  Convoy coörganizer Pat King has turned himself in to the Ottawa courthouse. King is accused of breaching his bail, but what that entailed has not been released. He is currently waiting for the verdict in his trial, expected in October. (Marlo Glass in the Ottawa Citizen)

• 🆓 This weekend Sparks Street becomes the site of Ottawa International Busker Fest, where you can enjoy the best in street entertainment as you shop and dine along the famous thoroughfare. 

• Get acquainted with moist towelettes - in a big way - at Ottawa Ribfest and Poutine, aka "The Big Sticky", this weekend at Ottawa City Hall. 

• Road Trip: Less than an hour from Parliament Hill, the Glengarry Highland Games draw thousands of visitors annually to see the heavyweight competitions (hammer and caber toss, and stone put among them). The athletics are just one reason to attend however; this year you can take a beginner lesson in Gaelic, watch the Highland Dancing, Piping, Drumming, Fiddling, Rugby, and Canadian Armed Forces Primary Reserve Tug of War competitions, enjoy live music on several stages, shop, and eat and drink. BUT, ONE MORE THING ...

What is going on with the house pets in Ottawa? Last week, we told you about Indie the cat who was found in Gloucester eight years after going missing in Montréal.

Today, we find that Teddy the minature poodle was found in Wyoming after being dognapped from Centretown last September. The dog was found when police in the small town of Riverton pulled over a man for running a red light.

Teddy’s owner is having trouble bringing him home though – she doesn’t have a passport and the dog doesn’t have the paperwork to be delivered. He is currently being cared for by a local shelter.
