OC Transpo wants to know what you think of the existing bus routes. The agency is planning to rejig the system both because of the upcoming O Train extensions, but also because remote working has changed the way people use transit.

    🏥 Birth Alerts

    •  The Ottawa Hospital has received hundreds of ‘birth alerts’ from Québec despite Ontario ending the practice. Birth alerts are notices from child welfare agencies to hospitals about imminent births from mothers deemed high risk. The practice was judged as unfairly targetting Indigenous mothers and threatened them with removal of their babies. Ontario banned the birth alerts in 2020, and the Ottawa Hospital has ignored the notifications from Québec. (Priscilla Ki Sun Hwang at CBC)

    •  Snoop Dogg reaches out to First Nations, asking for help in landing the ownership bid. Los Angeles-based entrepreneur Neko Sparks’ group, of which Dogg is a part, is hinting at Indigenous groups having a share in the team. (Leah Larocque at CTV)
