💣  Thank you to the many readers who pointed out that Brownsburg, once home to to Bomb Girls, is 90 minutes east of Ottawa, not west as we wrote Friday. Darren’s birthday is not until January but if someone is looking to give him an early gift, a compass would not be amiss.

🗳️ Polling places are open until 9:30 pm tonight. Visit Elections.ca to find where to place your ballot.

    Agenda

    WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT

💰 The City is reducing parking meter rates by 50¢ in Constellation, War Museum, Little Italy North, ByWard Market North/East, Glebe North, and Centretown South. The City has figured that the demand for parking in those areas is low, and reduced rates accordingly. The new rate is $3.00 per hour. – Josh Pringle at CTV

💰 An Ottawa safer-supply doctor is one of the province’s top billers to OHIP, at $2.5 million per year. The doctor, whose firm is named Northwood Recovery, also has clinics in North York, Hamilton, Manitoulin Island, Sudbury, Timmins, and Sault Ste. Marie. – Arthur White-Crummey at CBC

💰 Loto Québec is building a new convention centre on the grounds of the Casino Lac-Leamy in Gatineau. The $50 million project will cover 100,000 square-feet and take at least two years to build. – CBC

🍃 Hydro Ottawa has been admitted to the 2025 edition of Canada’s Greenest Employers. While the utility, 100 per cent owned by the City, is known to be the largest municipally-owned producer of green power in Ontario with its mix of mix of hydroelectric, solar and landfill gas power generation, it also owns one of the largest pollinator meadows of its kind in eastern Ontario.
