HELLO OTTAWA

Please support the ottawan

Here’s something that we should not admit when we are asking for money: we’ll keep publishing the ottawan even if we never see a dime from anyone.

In fact, as much as we like you, gentle reader, we publish the ottawan to find the answer to our own questions: What should we do this weekend? Why is the O Train so dysfunctional? Who’s in charge? When will we see some change? How did any of this happen? Where can we get a really good pizza?

We ask ourselves these questions every day, and every day we try again to answer them, especially the one about pizza

Since we launched in April 2020, we’ve published our Ottawa-Gatineau Craft Brewery Map, given out the Best of Ottawa Awards, and emailed out approximately 1,000 newsletters. And we’re just getting started. You're going to love our new and improved events calendar, for one thing (coming soon!).

But for now, we’re asking if you can help out by signing up as a supporting member of the ottawan.

We have three levels:

🔺 $5 per month / Technically Beautiful

🔺 $10 per month / Bytowner

🔺 $20 per month / City that Fun Remembered

🔺 $25 per month / Truly OTT

To thank you for supporting us as a member, we'll give you a birthday shoutout in the newsletter (don't forget to mark your big day on the subscription form!).

However, if you pay any of the above levels annually, we’ll send you a free ottawan 👕 t-shirt (or any of our Historic Ottawa Logo shirts). You can also send a one-time donation, anything $60 and over gets a t-shirt, too.

What happens if you don’t sign up as a member? Nothing at all. the ottawan remains free for you and everyone else to read. We’re not asking for support to pull up the drawbridge, we’re asking you to help spread the good word about Ottawa even further.

Thank you for sticking with us as an ottawan reader.

👍  This is the link – please make your donation here

– Martha and Darren

PS There are two other ways to support the ottawan.

1. Buy a t-shirt. You know you want one.

2. Tell a friend about us. Connections are what makes Ottawa, Ottawa, aren't they?
