HELLO TUESDAY Our Craft Brewery Map has been a vital resource during the pestilence. It's proof that Ottawa has a craft brewing scene that is the envy of Canada. But craft distillers are also making their names known, and the Ottawa Valley is home to some of the most interesting and innovative. And here is a remarkable thing: craft gin, vodka, and rye is basically the same price as the imported stuff. The usual Canadian-made mark-up doesn't apply. So while you are at the cottage, on the porch, or hanging out the window, here are the local spirits to raise yours. |

All of these distillers also make hand sanitisers as well. And these days, that's probably the most profitable part of their businesses. The other two Ottawa distillers to be aware of: Dunrobin Distilleries, which has postponed their first spirits to make hand sanitiser, and Twelve Barrels, which is an Ottawa repackager of other distillers’ rye. #CORONAVIRUS UPDATE ⭕ There have been 2559 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 63 since Friday, and 264 deaths in Ottawa, no new reports. ⭕ Public Health Ontario says only a tiny fraction of the public has been exposed to COVID-19 [CBC] ⭕ Canada's deal with Amazon to deliver medical supplies to the Provinces has been suspended.
