COVID-19 NEWS ⭕ The Federal Government has reversed ferret on its plan to require all cross-border truckers to be fully vaccinated. Canadian unvaccinated truckers will be free from testing or quarantine however American truckers are still required to be vaccinated as of Saturday. WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT ▪️Former CTV weatherman J.J. Clarke has been found not criminally responsive for harassment charges. A judge agreed with a report by a forensic psychiatrist that Clarke was not of sound mind and need not stand trial. Clarke had been charged with harassment of two women and a man. [CBC] ▪️Gatineau's largest rental landlord is now refunding application fees after getting caught out. Osgoode Properties had been charging $150 application fees to prospective renters for years despite it being illegal on the face of it. [Ottawa Citizen] ▪️Carleton University Ravens have fired their head coach. Steve Sumarah had been head coach since football returned to the university in 2013 (it left in 1998). A search is underway for his replacement. [Ottawa Sun] ▪️The BeaverTails Ice Dragon Boat Festival has been cancelled for obvious reasons.
