The Ottawan

HELLO OTTAWA

We had a new addition to our curated list of Ottawa Podcasts: The Disgruntled Lifecoach.

Reader Andrea, who made the nomination, says ‘Pierre Hamel does a great job using humour to shed some light on our psychology and basic human niceness!’

It's a good listen. Relatedly, Apt 613 has interviewed a few Ottawa podcasters on why they do it.

We'll see you tomorrow– Martha and Darren

WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT

▪️Gatineau's largest rental landlord is now refunding application fees after getting caught out. Osgoode Properties had been charging $150 application fees to prospective renters for years despite it being illegal on the face of it. [Ottawa Citizen]

▪️Carleton University Ravens have fired their head coach. Steve Sumarah had been head coach since football returned to the university in 2013 (it left in 1998). A search is underway for his replacement. [Ottawa Sun]

▪️The BeaverTails Ice Dragon Boat Festival has been cancelled for obvious reasons. It would have coincided with Winterlude later in the month, which itself is cancelled. The Tim Horton's Dragon Boat festival in June is still on. [Ottawa Citizen]
