HELLO OTTAWA

  • College ward councillor Laine Johnson has an idea for the City’s exploding rat population problem: the ‘pill’.

  • Johnson wants Health Canada to approve a new contraceptive product that has been used in the United States. The product doesn’t kill the vermin but prevents new baby rats from being born.

  • ‘It’s delicious and very sweet, so the rats are attracted to it as they would be anything else, but what’s kind of neat about this particular product is the rats don't die afterwards’.
  • Johnson will be bringing the idea to City Council, which she hopes will endorse the idea.
