Today only, use the code FRIDAY13 to save 13% on all print fabric at Mad About Patchwork.

BUT, ONE MORE THING ...

In the Ottawa Citizen, Brigitte Pellerin tells of a way to improve OC Transpo’s experiment in on-demand buses. Earlier this year, OC Transpo ran an experiment in Blackburn Hamlet on Sundays, when residents could call a minibus when needed. It was deemed successful.

But Concordia University researchers have a new version using smaller passenger vans and buttons at bus stops. Riders press the button, are told how long they will need to wait, and the van will come to take them to a determined transit hub or shopping centre or similar. No smartphones are needed and a suburban Montréal test showed it provided faster service.
