WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT ▪️The City’s Planning Committee decides that razing 100 units of affordable housing for a new O Train line is a bad idea, moves the line. The Planning Committee previously approved destroying lower-rent apartments at Manor Village and Cheryl Gardens because existing major utilities made it inconvenient. Some City worker figured out they could raise the new Barrhaven Stage 3 route over the utililies and made the recommendation. The decision will now go to the full council over whether it is a good idea to raze 100 lower-rent apartments. [City of Ottawa] |
