HELLO OTTAWA
▪️ It’s Pride month (although Capital Pride saves their march for August) and if you need an excuse to send someone special a gift, Maker House has you covered. The Pride Gift Box is a rainbow-filled box of gifts from across the Maker House vendor spectrum (*ahem*). 100% of sales from the box, which includes a mug, bar soap, bath bomb, soap dish, chocolate, and post card, will help to support the Around the Rainbow and Northern Lights Refuge organizations. ▪️ At Square Lemon, Moongrazer Crafts’ Pride Chain Mail Keychains are cool pieces of pure style in a range of colour ways: Bi Flag, Rainbow, QPOC Rainbow, and Trans Flag. $7.00 - $8.00. ▪️ It’s ostensibly for kids, but we know more than a one grownup who would value the time spent making the Yarn Rainbow Kit from Diana Watters Handmade. Get it at a reduced price from Cheerfully Made right now. $18.00 (reg. $25.00). ▪️ A portion of the sale of tea tree scented unity candles from Good Clean Fun Decor are a donated to gay charities in Ottawa. They’re available in Pride or Trans colour ways. $17.00 at Ottawa Artisans. Coming up ▪️ Ecology Ottawa put out a call for volunteers on July 3rd and 4th for the charity’s Pick Up stand at the Parkdale Market. Customers will be arriving to pick up plants ordered during the spring pollinator fundraiser. Duties will include stand set up and tear down, back stocking, and general coronation of the day. ▪️ We found ourselves 120 feet above our comfort zone yesterday, at the launch of the Rogers Interzip. It's a zipline from Ontario to Quebec, taking adventurous souls over the Ottawa River at 40km/h. It was the most terrifying and exhilarating 30 seconds of our lives. Word of advice: pay special attention to the landing instructions. Open next week until October 1, 2021. We'll see you tomorrow – Martha and Darren ?️ Do you know something that Ottawa should hear about? Email to us at hello@theottawan.com. We read every single comment. |
