WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT |
🗳️ City Council - Osgoode ward councillor George Darouze has officially resigned his seat. Darouze won the provincial Carleton riding as a Progressive Conservative in the recent election, requiring his resignation of a municipal seat. City Council will officially accept the resignation on March 26, when it will announce the details of a byelection for a replacement. The Osgoode ward office remains open and staffed; residents who require assistance can email ward20@ottawa.ca for help.

🧭 Business Help - The City has created a new online tool for entrepreneurs to find the perfect location for their business. Locate Ottawa has been connected to local real estate listings to help find available offices, warehouses, and the like for rent or sale. But it also allows prospective businesses to search using demographics, consumer spending habits, and labour statistics.
Locate Ottawa can be found here.

💥 Rideau Lakes Township - Another local mayor has thrown in the towel towel due to frustration. Mayor Arie Hoogenboom of Rideau Lakes Township, east of Ottawa, is stepping back due to ‘lack of civility’ by council. Last year, the mayor of Gatineau quit due to toxicity and the mayor of McNab/Braeside quit last month.
