HELLO, OTTAWA

More Weekend Plans

▪️ Right now until Sunday March 14, the Freewheeling Craft’s Womens’ Day Market celebrates the women crafters and enjoyers of the craft lifestyle. You’ll find everything from DIY embroidery kits to chocolate, pottery, and bath and body products made in Ottawa and across Canada.

▪️ If you skated this winter, chances are you visited B Sharp Ottawa to get your blades taken care of. To say thank you to their customers, B Sharp Ottawa is holding a swag giveaway. Just head to their Instagram feed between now and Sunday and comment on the giveaway post for your chance to win a toque, a tee, blade covers, and more.

▪️ Winter Brewfest isn’t happening this year so organizers have pivoted to create a local delivery box, “Maple in a Box,” containing a four course meal including Mac and Cheese, Maple Lamb & Waffle, Maple Poutine, and Crispy Pork Rinds from Le Rituel restaurant in Gatineau, and two craft beers from Brasserie Gallicus and 5e Baron, plus special surprises. Only 600 boxes are available, and they can only be picked up in person on March 19 directly from Le Rituel.

▪️ Spark Beer is celebrating the warmer weather with the return of two hoppy treats, available for pick up and delivery: Double Activities is a double IPA created with Strata, Mosaic and Citra hops, is described by the brewery as “an herbaceous, weedy and citrusy delight”). $4.25 per can.

Meanwhile, Ominous Whooshing with its trifecta of Citra, Simcoe, and Strata hops is hazy, juicy, and smooth. $3.95 per can.

▪️ Mark the calendar for next Thursday March 18, when Ottawa Artisans launches the “Here Comes the Sun Virtual Market” at 7:00pm. Nearly 200 artisans from Ottawa and across Canada will be participating. There will be free, Canada-wide shipping on orders over $150, and free local Ottawa delivery on orders over $100 (or $10 flat rate). Free local pick up is also available, at the Ottawa Artisans storefront in St. Laurent Shopping Centre and at Aux Délices Bakery. RSVP now and watch for giveaways starting Monday.

▪️ We've added three craft brewers to The last Ottawa-Gatineau Craft Brewery Map you will ever need

In Gatineau, Microbrasserie 5e Baron. In Westport, Westport Brewing Company. And at the edge in Gananoque, which is about as far as we want to go on our map and still be Ottawa-Gatineau focussed, is Gan Brewing Company.

We'll see you Monday – Martha and Darren
