In Today’s Edition → Public employee argues COVID 19 is ongoing to avoid return to office mandate, loses case → Miniature trains go on display at Canada Science and Technology Museum tomorrow → Deal of the Day on #madeincanada winter hats → 🌤️ High -3° Low -22° and partly cloudy. ☀️ 6:37 am 🌛 5:53 pm The Poll Yesterday, we asked ‘Are you consciously avoiding US-made products at the store now?’ 93% Yes 2% No 3% I think it is pointless That is one clear result. We came across this web app over the weekend, SCANuck. Many non-Canadian made items say things like ‘designed in Canada’. Scan the barcode and SCANuck will – most of the time – show where it is actually made. Today’s question:

OTTAWAN OF THE DAY - Line De Matteis
- The public employee was picking up her car after work in the Slater Street parkade when she noticed huge cracks in the ceiling. She took a photo and emailied it to Indigo, the parkade owner. Ten minutes later, as she exited the parkade, emergency crews were already on site..

WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT |
🗳️ Public employee who refused to return to office over COVID 19 reasons has lost his legal case. - The chief of field programs at Elections Canada argued that COVID 19 continues to be a threat to health and refused to obey the return to office order by the Treasury Board, invoking his right to refuse dangerous work under the Canada Labour Code. Elections Canada subsequently investigated the safety of office work, releasing a report that said it met or exceeded guidance. Eventually, the case went to Federal Court where the judge employee said the employee did not demonstrate that the safety in the office was unreasonable.

🏠 Rockcliffe Mansion - A battle over the redevelopment of a century-old mansion in Rockcliffe has been been settled by the Ontario Land Tribunal. The Tribunal ruled that two mansions, larger than the previous single mansion, could be built over the objections of neighbours.
