    🏈 Lansdowne 2.0

    •  The Ontario Land Tribunal has dismissed an appeal against the approval of Lansdowne 2.0. The Glebe Community Association had appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal over Lansdowne 2.0. However, the new Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act limits appeals to the Tribunal over zoning changes. (Josh Pringle at CTV)

    •  The Aberdeen Street overpass at Highway 417 near Vankleek Hill has been declared structurally unsoundThe eastbound lane of the highway has been diverted after motorists reported that the pavement seemed to be buckling. (CBC)

    •  Release a Butterly in memory of a loved one at Beechwood Cemetery. The Butterly Memorial Event both raises funds for Bereaved Families of Ontario’s support programs. It also creates a breathtaking spectacle as the insects are released into the air. $45 for adults, $15 for children 12 years and under.

    •  Ottawa Bagel Shop Music Fest runs all summer on Wednesdays and Sundays. Today’s lineup: Lazzy Lung, Rox Anne

    •  Who knows what Sunday’s weather will bring? Rain or shine, nip into the Lexington from 2:30 pm to 4:30pm for the Scottish Society of Ottawa’s Whisky Tasting.     In September 1929, a few months after the Conservatives lost an election, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer Winston Churchill came to Canada on a holiday, visiting Ottawa then heading west. This story is mostly about the Calgary bits but is facinating nonetheless.
