The number of recommendations that the coroner’s inquest jury has made over the death of .. The jury also ruled yesterday that Abdi’s death was a homicide. Abdi died after a beating by Ottawa police officers attempting to arrest him after he sexually assaulted several women at a coffee shop. Almost all 57 recommendations – addressed to the police service, Ottawa Police Service board, the City of Ottawa, and several ministries – require improved mental health actions. The report shows that 19 schools are only 60 per cent used but 52 schools are over 100 per cent capacity.
