Thank you for all the Ottawa/Gatineau experience birthday suggestions for Darren. He'll let you know which dining delight won out after next week. Today, we'd like to help out Brigitte Pellerin at the Citizen. Today's column asks for suggestions for the smells of Ottawa. She, of course, brings up the ‘Eau de LRT’ but also ‘Warm Pungent Canal on a Windless August Day’ and ‘Eau de BeaverTail’. Give her a hand and send your Ottawa aromas to ‘bp@brigittepellerin.com’. – Martha and Darren |

Ottawa Public Health reports COVID-19 data Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is from yesterday. |
Ottawa COVID-19 wastewater surveillance updates daily. The co-lead investigator says that, as of yesterday, COVID-19 signals in wastewater have ‘doubled between the third and fourth weeks of December’ and the levels are ‘comparable to last January when the Omicron subvariant was at its first peak’. However, the new XBB.1.5 COVID-19 subvariant has not yet been found in Ottawa in large quantities. (Joseph Tunney at CBC) |
There is something very comforting about the bouquet of Glen's Chip Wagon wafting across the Canadian Tire car park in Kanata. We will see you tomorrow – Martha and Darren
