GOOD FRIDAY MORNING, OTTAWA

What's going on?

Old timey Somerset St W resturant Union Local 613 has been threatened with shutdown for delivering cocktails with its food,

Why? Lots of people are delivering booze these days

Indeed. Most of the craft breweries are doing it, and you can order booze from stores. In this case, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has come down on Union Local 613 because they say that they are not a manufacturer.

Surely they are not delivering open mason jars of Hibiscous Gin Punch?

No, they are bottling them like everyone else, with tamperproof seals.

Don't you have to order food to get booze in a restaurant?

Oh, what a hardship. But if you only want the Dark & Stormy, just order the peanuts.

What happens next?

They're not backing down. Delivery continues and if AGCO insists, they'll fight
