HELLO TUESDAY

Elgin Street reopens to car traffic today and the renewal project, which seemed inadequate when it was approved in 2017, makes even less sense now.

The original plan combines cycle lanes with traffic, rather than dedicated lanes. It includes improved parking spaces rather than patio spaces.

Turning parking spaces into patios is more than just erecting a tent, they need power, water, and drainage.

But it's not too late. Reconstruction will continue into the autumn. But will the  City modify their plans?

We'll see you tomorrow  – Martha and Darren
