HELLO OTTAWA The flags at Ottawa City Hall will be lowered to half-mast today in in memory of the children whose bodies were discovered in a previously unknown grave at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC. The flags will be lowered for one hour for each child discovered, taking 215 hours until next Tuesday. All Federal buildings will lower their flags as well today, for an undetermined amount of time. COVID-19 NEWS ⭕ Everyone 80 years old and older can book their second dose today, and possibly move up their date if it is already arranged. [City of Ottawa] ⭕ Canada’s chief medical officer Dr Theresa Tam says that Canada is on the other side of the third wave. But, she says, we can't lift restrictions too quickly or we'll be on to the fourth wave. [CBC] ⭕ Health Canada extends the expiry date of thousands of vials of the AstraZeneca vaccine by one month. The vials were set to expire today. [CBC] ⭕ People in Gatineau are enjoying outdoor patio dining now that some COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
