HELLO OTTAWA

It’s official folks – the Rideau Canal Skateway will not open this year, for the first time ever. But it will probably not be the last

long term risk assessment by the National Capital Commission says that February openings will be the norm in the future, if at all.

It’s cold comfort, no pun intended, but the mild weather that keeps the Skateway closed allows your local sugar bush to open early. This is a good weekend to go visit one.
