COVID-19 NEWS ⭕ Ontario's chief medical officer of health says another round of COVID 19 boosters is being planned for autumn. Dr. Kieran Moore says it will be for those most at risk but later opened to the general public. [Globe & Mail] ⭕ Travellers to the US by air will no longer need to have a negative COVID 19 test one day before the flight as of Sunday. People crossing by land don't currently require the test. WHAT OTTAWA IS TALKING ABOUT ▪️Ottawa Paramedics have been running a 911 mental health team under the radar for three months. The Mental Wellbeing Response Team is a partnership between the Paramedics and the Ottawa Hospital. The service pairs a specially trained paramedic partnered with a mental health professional on non-violent and non-criminal emergency calls where mental health and substance use are factors. The teams are called out around 25 times per day. [CityNews] ▪️Canada Post is trialling its new electric mail van this week. The new postie vehicle has a maximum speed of 40 km/h and will ply a route covering neighbourhoods west of downtown. [CityNews] ▪️The Ottawa Carleton District School Board has issued a new ‘show your style’ dress code for students. The new guidelines state that the Board will no longer review clothing, hair styles, or headgear unless it shows words of images that are discriminatory or drug related.
