Councillors Ariel Troster, Jeff Leiper, Shawn Menard will meet with the public virtually at 7:00 pm tonight to discuss priorities. Watch on Zoom here.

West Carleton is up tomorrow at West Carleton Community Complex, 5670 Carp Road; Bay, College, and Knoxdale-Merivale meet virtually on Monday  (registration required), and Rideau-Rockcliffe's date is Oct 30 (registration required).

The public consultations with the rest of the wards are November 14 and later, so we’ll mention them closer to the date.

    Quote

    • It looks like a letter that was sent out from somebody who's holding my dog hostage

    • – Orléans East-Cumberland ward councillor Matt Luloff on the letters sent out by Service Line Warranties of Canada offering disaster plans for sewer and water lines. The warranties, which are legitimate, help cover the cost of a broken water or sewer line between the street and a house, an area which would not normally be the responsibility of the City. While the company is authorized by the City to use the Ottawa logo on their letters, residents constantly complain that the design of the letters look like it could be a scam. The City’s Environment and Climate Change committee voted to renogotiate the deal, which must be approved by the full council. (Arthur White-Crummey at CBC)
