    🏅 National Historic Sites

    • The Dominion Observatory on Carling avenue has been designated a national historic site. Inspired by the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England, the Observatory was constructed in 1902 for ‘research and collaboration in the fields of astronomy, geophysics, seismologys and gravitational studies’. In 1970, much of the Observatory’s work was transferred to the National Research Council and Natural Resources Canada. The building currently houses Natural Resources Canada’s Office of Energy Efficiency.

    DAILY POLL

    The Poll

Friday, we asked ‘Are you bothered about the Hudson’s Bay Co. closures?’

74% Yes, it’s hard not to think of The Bay
22% No, we need department stores like we need rabbit ears on TVs
4% I've been disconsolate since the Bay took over the AJ Freiman Department Store

All four Bay stores in Ottawa and the one in Gatineau are liquidating their stock as of today.

Today’s Poll: We’re going to ask this question twice. Today and again on election day, Monday April 28.

A deep black base, laced with subtle green and blue hues, reflects the rugged landscapes of the region, while bold accents streak across like flashes of lightning. Designed for a team that moves with relentless speed, this jersey embodies the energy of a storm brewing on the horizon.’
