Six organizations accepting donations to support survivors of residential schools

▪️ Roofs of Steel has a four month contract for an Administrative Assistant, to work from home. Among the job duties are maintaining the customer file systems, emailing and calling customers. Some weekend hours are required. Salary: $24-25 per hour.

▪️ WorkInCulture is hiring a Curriculum Consultant/Instructor (Festivals & Collaboration) to deliver (with partners) a training series for non-profit arts and heritage festivals, to create and implement an effective recovery plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a remote working role, to run from June 2021 to October 2022. Must have proven experience in instructional design, curriculum design, or educational design. Salary: A fee of $15,000 will be paid in instalments.

▪️ Nat’s Bread Company is urgently hiring a weekend Farmers’ Market Sales Associate to set up the company stall, attract customers, sell products, balance sales at the end of shift, and packing up the market equipment and bread leftovers at the end of the day. Must be available every Saturday and Sunday from June to October, from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Must have driver’s license.

▪️ University of Ottawa students force rollback on out-of-province student tuition hikeThe university had planned to increase out-of-province tuition by three per cent. Current regular tuition at UofO is $3,561.80 per semester. [The Fulcrum]


▪️ The Ottawa Children’s Festival will be online from tomorrow until Monday. The Festival will feature two plays Cyclo and The Snail and the Whale, the latter based on Julia Donaldson’s award-winning picture book and film.
