Weekly update for May 1
- Red Apron is opening the patio this Thursday May 2. This year’s patio lunch menu features Lobster and Shrimp Rolls between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, Wednesdays through Saturdays. 410 Gladstone Ave.
- Whiprsnapr will mark May the 4th Star Wars Day with four – yes, four – special new beers, a pizza pop-up, and movies screening all day. Noon to 9:00 pm at 14 Bexley Pl Unit 106 K2H 8W2.
- The Mother’s Day brunch at Metcalfe Hotel’s Cocotte Bistro has two courses plus these tantalizing extras: a Breakfast Buffet of Québec and Ontario cheeses and pastries, and a Sweet Table. $53 per person.
- Impress your Mother Figure by cooking her a seven course feast at home, complete with cocktail and wine. The NeXT Mother’s Day Dinner @ Home also comes with a video explaining how to prepare everything for the woman of the hour. $89 per person. Available May 11 or 12.

- Terrasse du Square in Chelsea opens today. The Terrasse has a weekly market, film nights, and food includeing Korean, Mexican, Vietnamese and other dishes, mocktails and cocktails, soft-swirl ice cream and irresistible maple doughnuts.

- Ameya Charnalia at Eat the Strip thinks Ng’s Cuisine in Nepean has some of the best chinese food in Ottawa. The old school, plastic-covered table vibe matched the old school price of $55 for dim sum.
