What Ottawa is Talking About – 9 August 2021

▪️The Confederation Line has been closed after ‘a train's axle was dislodged from the rail’. The description sounds more like a derailment of the out-of-service train. Replacement buses are runnig while OC Transpo investigates. [CBC

▪️Two Ottawa-area MPs, both Liberals, will not run again in the next election. Health concerns mean that MP for Kanata-Carleton, Karen McCrimmon, will not run again. Extreme embarassment means that Pontiac MP Will Amos, the one that kept being nude on the internal Parliament Zoom chat, won't run again either. [Ottawa Citizen]

▪️ Ottawa’s highest mural has been created on Bank Street. Artist Claudia Salguero will finish the giant mural on on the south side of Ottawa Community Housing Building at 1365 Bank St. on Friday. [CTV]
