What Ottawa is talking about – 4 August 2021

▪️ Ottawa Life magazine is standing by its harsh depiction of police chief Peter Sloly. The magazine was sued – in a personal capacity – by the police chief in June, accusing it of printing libel. The magazine says that it will ask the court to dismiss the case as a SLAPP – Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation. [Ottawa Citizen]

▪️ The Provincial government says students are back in school in the autumn. They will have to wear masks but don't need to be vaccinated. Field trips, sports, and band class is also back. [CBC]
