What Ottawa is Talking About – 3 December 2022

▪️Apartment 613 is looking for board members. The award-winning non-profit news, arts, and culture site is looking for new members to lead the site into 2022 and beyond. [Apt 613]

▪️The mayor of Casselman lost his seat then regained it within a week. The village southeast of Ottawa appointed as the mayor as temporary chief administrative officer when that position became vacant. The Province noticed, and pointed out that municipal employees cannot also be elected officals, resulting in the mayor's removal. Casselman found their loophole to save the mayor by creating a committee of elected officials to do the chief administrative officer’s job until a replacement is found. His honour Daniel Lafleur was returned later in the week. [CBC

▪️Global Affairs Canada has narrowed their public art proposal down to four concepts and wants your view. The art will commerate those Canadian diplomats who have lost their lives in service to Canada. The art will be on the grounds of the John G. Diefenbaker Building at 111 Sussex Drive in Ottawa. Pictures! And the all important form. [Global Affairs Canada]

▪️The City has placed boxes of grit near dangerous hills and busy pedestrian areas. Feel free to spread the grit around. [Grit Locations]
