What Ottawa is Talking About – 2 March 2022

▪️Two dozen current and former members of the Ottawa Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police donated money to the Trucker’s siege. The Ottawa Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police are having trouble deciding if this is unacceptable or not. [CBC]

▪️The builders of the O Train say the City launched operations without consulting with them first. Rideau Transit Group was responding in an affadavit over the two O Train derailments earlier this year. The City blames the Group for myriad O Train malfunctions. The Group says the City wanted it launched so soon for political points. [Ottawa Citizen]

▪️Belly, Half Moon Run, Steve Marriner, and Sue Foley have all been nominated for a 2022 Juno award. All have early connections to Ottawa. The Junos will be awarded May 15. [Ottawa Sun
