Number:  10. The number of years that Ottawa Sports Pageshas been publishing. The non-profit newspaper has written over 6,000 stories about amateur sports in the capital. For their tenth birthday, they are asking the public for donations to keep publishing for the next ten. [Ottawa Sports Pages]

Ottawans of the Day:  Four Ojibway spirit horses. The rare ponies are of a breed that predates European contact with North America and only 150 are known to exist. The four will be special guests at the inaugural Tagwàgi Festival this week in the Greenbelt. [CBC] [Tagwàgi Festival]

Quote: ‘It's the first time that the government of Canada has accepted a pre-contact artifact as indicating use of Parliament Hill by the Indigenous population​​​​​​​ – Ian Badgley, manager of the archeology program at the National Capital Commission, on the discovery of a 4,000 year-old stone knife found during renovations of the Centre Block of Parliament. The  Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation  and the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation will share ownership of it, and any other artifacts discovered. The knife itself will be displayed in Parliament after renovations finish. [CBC
