COVID-19 NEWS

⭕ The Mounties say that members who refuse to vaccinate against COVID-19 will be replaced by reservists [CBC]

⭕ Beginning 3 am tomorrow, Canadians flying from a Canadian airport must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. People with only one dose can show clean results from COVID test until November 29. Unvaccinated foreign nationals can show proof of a valid COVID-19 molecular test to board a plane leaving Canada. [CBC]

⭕ Federal civil service managers will be given the authority to determine if any of their employees are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination exemption over personal beliefs. Managers cannot determine if the belief is valid but can make the call if the belief is sincerely held by the employee. [CBC]

⭕ City-run pools, rinks, recreation centres, and museums are now open to full capacity. Patrons must show proof of full vaccination and wear masks when not exercising. [City of Ottawa]

+ Related City workers and contractors have been given a two-week extension to become fully vaccinated or be put on unpaid leave. The new date is November 15.

+ Related The Civic Institute of Professional Personnel, the union that represents 2,500 City of Ottawa workers, is appaled that the Ottawa Police Service does not require its members to be vaccinated.
