COVID-19 NEWS

⭕ New Edinburgh resident Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be self-isolating for five days after coming into contract with a civil servant who had tested positive for COVID-19.  [CityNews]

⭕ 150 students at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School in Gatineau built their own air filtration systems for their classrooms. The school could not afford $800 HEPA filters for each classroom, so the kids built 26 clones, using MERV 13 furnace filters. It's not as effective as HEPA filters but close. [CBC

⭕ Ontario schools are required to notify health authorities if the absentee rate is above 30 per cent. Ottawa Public Health is proactively watching schools for COVID-19 outbreaks before schools must report. [CTV

⭕ Cinemas and theatres will be permitted to reopen their concession stands January 31. The Province had prevously allowed the venues to reopen at half capacity but without any food or drink service. [CityNews
