Alaska
- The 20 year-old Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride horse is looking for its forever home. Previously, the Mounties were only permitted to transfer horses to non-profits or other governments but new rules allow for any fit horse lover to adopt a police pony. Since the call was put out last week, over 1,600 applications to adopt Alaska have been received.
- The Mounties will announce the horse’s new home in the next few months but say only experienced people with large paddocks will be considered. Breeders and riding centres are out. (Kayla Rosen at CTV)
