- The expanded capacity of The Arena at TD Place. Extra seats in the upper bowl were put on sale after the first ever league match of Ottawa’s Professional Women’s Hockey League team sold out the regular 5,000 seats. The first match is Jan 2 against Montréal. TicketMaster has marked the night as sold out. (Ted Raymond at CTV)

Lynn Roy
- The Greely resident was name checked in the Provincial Parliament by Carleton MPP Goldie Ghamari, who stated ‘Madam Speaker, Lynn is proof that there really are angels among us’.
- Roy, who works at the LCBO, founded the Home for Alternative Learning and Motivational Strategies school which allows impoverished children living in the San Pedro, Philippines garbage dump to attend school, and to also have breakfast and lunch every day. Roy has donated all her LCBO pay cheques to the school.
