Police were called after an altercation between West Carleton - March ward councillor Clarke Kelly and the operator of a daycare. The West Carleton Kids Korner said they called Ottawa Police after Kelly ‘started yelling profanities at staff, threatening that camps has to go and using vulgar language and names towards staff and children’. The daycare had been running a summer camp in its office which is next door to Kelly’s in a City-owned complex in west Ottawa. The daycare says it is asking for a peace bond to ensure it does not happen again. Kelly says it ‘wasn't my finest moment as councillor’ but the dispute is a culmination of almost two years of messes, noise, and toys left in hallways. (William Eltherington at CTV)
🏇 Musical Ride
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Musical Ride is suffering from a lack of recruits. A new report says the Ride, based in Rockcliffe, is lacking riders because Mountie supervisors across Canada are unwilling to sign off on transfers because they themselves are short staffed.
